Badminton Conditioning Drill | HIIT the Court

A HIIT workout (High-intensity Interval Training) is a type of quick and intensive training with very short breaks for rest. This popular and effective workout is perfect for badminton players as badminton is a really dynamic and demanding game. What are the benefits of HIIT training? According to scientists it can boost your cardio-respiratory health and contribute to weight-loss. What is certain is that it will definitely help you to get fit! Our badminton coach, Tom Wolfenden, presents an example of a HIIT workout in the following video.

The HIIT workout exercises:

  1. Bodyweight Squats
  2. Shoulder Taps
  3. Split Lunge Jumps
  4. Jumping Jacks
  5. Press-ups

For a base level of fitness, perform each exercise for 30 seconds and take 20-second breaks between them. Repeat the session 2-3 times. If you are starting your fitness journey, do not forget to make a quick warm-up before this training!
